The West African Legal Empowerment Network event, held from 6 to 11 June 2023 in Kano, Nigeria, brought together a set of NGOs and civil society organisations from Central, Eastern and Western Africa. Among these participants, the Congolese organization Action des Volontaires d'Innovation pour le Dévéloppement (AVID asbl) proudly represented its country at this large-scale event.
Focused on the theme “Organize to Strengthen Community Power”, this learning exchange highlighted the importance of knowing, using and shaping law. These concepts prove essential to parajurists, enabling them to effectively convey messages aimed at promoting community power in the fight against social injustice.
The event provided a unique platform for sharing knowledge, exchanging experiences and building the capabilities of the participants. He stressed the importance of legal empowerment as a powerful tool to bring about positive change within African communities.
